Windows 11 On Surface Duo Gets Working Wi Fi Esim Cellular And Gps

Now, the French developer has released the most recent version of the project, which includes new features and improvements as well as several key driver updates. The latest release includes support for Wi-Fi, Cellular Data, Cellular Text, eSim, GPS, and Miracast, which makes Windows on Surface Duo devices much more usable than before. It also allows you to effectively install and replace the phone’s mobile operating system with a desktop OS – Windows 10 or Windows 11 – on a first-gen Microsoft Surface Duo.

— Gustave Monce (@gus33000) July 10, 2022 Given below is the changelog for version 2207.32, which is now available for download from GitHub:

Wi-Fi is now functional (2.5Ghz/5Ghz). Mac Address retrieval is not yet here, however. Cellular Data is now functional (LTEA/LTE/HSDPA+/HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS). Cellular Texts are now functional. Use the Chat application to send and get messages. Calls, VoLTE, RCS, and more are coming soon in a later release. eSIM support is now enabled in this release. GPS is now functional.

It is important to note that critical things like making or receiving phone calls as well as the camera do not work properly in the experimental project. Some of the known issues with the Surface Duo when running Windows 11 are listed below:

Automatic Orientation only works for the left panel, using the right panel orientation sensor USB Dongles that are not externally powered may not currently work USB C Billboard devices will not currently work External Display Stream support will not currently work Additional information provided by the posture sensor is currently not available for public consumption, this includes peek events. Digitizers will not react to the device being folded over Displays will not react to the device being folded over most of the time Physical device data is incorrect Graphical Rendering Issues

Monce says he is working on adding call support. He said that he is also working on adding support for using the Surface Duo’s USB-C port to connect external displays. Given the limitations in terms of features, it is not advisable to risk bricking your Surface Duo, as the device is not yet ready to replace the original Android for everyday use. However, if you still wish to try out Windows 11 on a Surface Duo, you can follow the instructions provided on the GitHub page of the project. Also, the Surface Duo running Android has recently received an official update. Click here to check it out!
